I have had lots of ideas lately. I love to sit in my swing and watch the clouds in the sky with the sun shinning down on me while I think about things. I have had only one such day this year for doing this, and I am waiting for the weather to warm up more so I can go out. Ive raked my leaves from the flower gardens surrounding my lot, and next will be tilling my vegetable garden with fertilizer. I will get manure and spred that around too. My neighboors want a garden as well, so we may open the fence and make one big community garden. The Mexicans who have migrated up here are new at this type of gardening if they gardened at all it seems. We have all kinds of fruit trees, every vegetable and grapes and herbs. They have planted these weard looking tomatoes
that have this shell over the tomato part. They make this salsa with it. And they plant cilantro too.
Hot peppers of all kinds as well, so between my American garden and their Mexican garden we have quite a smörgåsbords. I do not speak Spanish, so I can never understand what they say, but we all get along fine. Everybody on my street is Mexican just about. They are very good people and families for sure. Their husbands work mainly as laborers; concrete, bricks, and roofing. The moms stay home, cook, clean, and have babies. It is basically like America was in the 50's. The ones who have come way up North here are really stable, and no trouble at all.
They have to be in order to stay up northeast where the housing is outragious, people will not take any crap, and you pretty much should have a two person income, but these guys are
really serious about getting their citizenship and staying here. The reason I talk about this is that my environment influences my artwork. My life and how I live gives me a muse or not.
Im sorta at a lull as to what to paint or draw these days, mainly focusing on larger sculpture
waiting for the sun to come out some so I can weld and mix concrete for my planned sculptures.
I have done a few drawings which I will share.
Happy Spring, and happy Birthday to me.
