Hard to see the knightmade from silver plated
dishware and candle holder
and a knight raido for a
head of course.
Given no guidance in this artworld in the first place it is hard to try getting to the next step with your artwork. The craft shows were good at first, untill 911. Then everything went to pot
as far as people buying artwork. Espically sculpture and non-able to hide from your husband artwork. Women can spend hundreds on jewelry, but sculpture......Well, I must say one HAS to have a taste for my type of work anyhow, so that doesnt make marketing it any easier either.
This year I hope to get into a few good galleries as well as put some bigger sculpture out there for public places artwork. My goal is to be able to design and fabricate and install much bigger, more permant works of art using my Civil Engineering skills. But every application wants to see
at least 20 works of larger sculpture. There is always a catch 22 in everything in life it seems. Not that I am trying to take short cuts, because I dont mind hard work at all, in fact it keeps me sane and out of trouble, but to convince some art council you know what you are doing without something to back it up is sorta unheard of. I am doing well so far. I just keep plugging away at it and hopefully my artwork will speak for itself.
