Trying To Figure The Blog Thing Out

I used to be good at figuring out the internet lingo, when things were soo simple here. Remember when we had the first free website "Geocities"? I was all about creating that website. But years have brought me to bloggs, lightening fast connections and lots of things to make folks logged on and tuned in. I did not learn too much HTML, as I went into my art studio and created art instead of keeping myself tied to the computer. But now I wanna learn how to "Get Connected" again. I hear there is money to be made blogging. I think if you get some "jobs" from some of these sites that have the advertizers available to read what you post, and then if they like you they contact you to write about their product or something. Still not sure about that. I did just sign up to "bloggerwave" for that reason. My grammer stinks, and I have to look up every word that is more than a four letter word, but with time I should be alright describing different things. And whats with the words that have the pop ups to them. I think that is a money thing too, but before I get into any opinions about worldly issues and family stuff I want to get this figured out. Any helpers?? Please let me know. If anybody knows, let me know. Thanks.
